Description: Vantage Apparel, a midsize manufacturer is the nation’s top source for custom logo apparel, with key end clients including Fortune 500 companies, resorts, golf courses, colleges, and casinos. The role requires a big-thinking self-starter who is both strategic and hands-on, as he or she will be responsible for the full range of Human Resources support at Vantage Apparel. He or she will play a key role in supporting our company-wide automation and integration initiative, owning the evolution of the process around employee development, from training to growth, and recruiting associates with the skills required to excel in this competitive market. The Human Resources Manager will:

  • Establish and lead the recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.
  • Develop and implement training programs, providing necessary education and materials to managers and employeees, including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks and standardized reports.
  • Lead the implementation of the performance management reviews, including crafting employee development plans and performance development plans.
  • Coach and train managers in communication, feedback, recognition and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.
  • Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship, and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Participate in obtaining cost-effective, employee-serving benefits in partnership with senior management and the Payroll / Benefits Manager; and recommend changes in current benefits offered, especially concerning those aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Lead company compliance with all human resource governmental, labor, legal and reporting requirements.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:

  • The ability to collaborate as a team player, and interact successfully with people at all levels within and outside of the organization in support of larger goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in recruiting and hiring practices, including the use of social media.
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) and / or a minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources roles.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in employment law, compensation, employee relations, safety and employee development.
  • Experienced in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.
  • High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Human Resources Information Systems.
  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations.
  • Knowledge of the apparel business and/or the Promotional Products Industry preferred.
