The Eco adVantage: How We Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Posted December 2, 2021 by Emily Altieri

When it comes to making sustainable choices, your biggest goal should be keeping products and trash out of landfills. Finding new ways to reuse products and extending the life of older goods are both incredible ways to reduce your carbon footprint for the greater good. Here at Vantage, we’ve committed ourselves to embracing the phrase “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” to help support an eco-friendlier future.

Reduce

As a business, it can be hard to reduce your output when demands are constantly being made for new product. However, where there’s a will, there’s a way and for us, every small step counts. One step we’ve taken is the introduction of On-Demand Ordering. To eliminate the production of excess inventory, we’ve implemented a system that only puts items into production once they’ve been ordered. This allows our customers to avoid creating unnecessary, excess stock that will not be used.

Reuse

During our design and construction process, the most important aspect we consider is always quality; we want are products to hold up for years to come. We create Logogevity™ as we say, which is strong, branded apparel that’s built to last. When you opt for and invest in quality made goods, you’re going to get a product that will encourage reuse and withstand years of wear.

Recycle

Our world is saturated and littered with garbage that needs a new life. One polluter that we’re all familiar with is none other than the dreaded plastic bottle. According to The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, it takes roughly 450 years for a single-use plastic bottle to decompose. To keep these bottles from sitting in our oceans for nearly half a millennium, we’ve taken the effort to use them to create clothing instead. Our Earthwise Collection is constructed using Repreve® Recycled Polyester fabric, made with recycled plastic bottles. Since introducing this collection, we’ve been able to keep nearly 500,000 bottles out of landfills. We hope to see this number grow even more in time, as we aim to encourage a more sustainable future.

Every big change begins with one small step to make a difference. For more information on our changes, as well as tips on how to be more eco-conscious, make sure to check out the Social Responsibility page on our website and subscribe to our monthly Vibe Newsletter.
